PLC ENDOWMENT FUNDS
The Fund's Story
The Endowment Fund started with a large bequest from a member of our congregation. Additional endowments have been added since the original gift. In 1990, the congregation approved the concept of using only the income from the investment for grants. Since the principal of endowments remain intact, the fund will be a source of perpetual gifts. As much as we would encourage you to give to the Endowment Fund, we would also encourage you to apply for a grant. It is important that the funds are going to deserving programs and projects. Members of the congregation know best from their experiences and associations what is happening in the community, so please remember to remind your organizations and groups of the possibility of applying for funds.
The Paynesville Lutheran Endowment Fund is governed by a five-member volunteer Endowment Committee. Grants are generally reviewed in April and October.
The Endowment Committee accepts and encourages any person or organization seeking funds to apply to the Paynesville Lutheran Church Endowment. We receive applications from ministries within our congregation, community ministries, or ministries of the larger church and community. We look forward to reviewing applications and continuing the incredible impact of this gift we have as a congregation.
Grants are given in October and April of each year.
Fall Granting deadline is October 15, 2024.
